Top Things to Watch
Big Week for US Data
This week kicks off with fresh data on economic momentum from the US ?? through Monday and Wednesday’s ISM PMI reports and the ADP Employment Change, giving an early signal on labor strength. By Friday, all eyes turn to inflation and sentiment as the Core PCE Index, which is the Fed’s favorite inflation gauge, and the Michigan surveys reveal how prices and household confidence are shaping the outlook.
Why the DXY is trending?
The US dollar index remained under pressure as markets leaned toward a more dovish Federal Reserve outlook. Growing expectations for rate cuts have pushed US Treasury yields lower, reducing demand for the dollar. This week’s upcoming data releases will be impacting rate expectations and could determine the dollar’s next direction.
Broader risk sentiment is also influencing the greenback. Safe-haven flows have eased as global markets stabilize, causing markets to rotate out of the dollar and into risk-on currencies such as the euro, the pound and the Aussie dollar.

Gold Steadies as Rate-Cut Bets Rise
Gold is holding near recent highs as expectations of a Federal Reserve rate cut strengthen, pushing the US dollar lower and boosting the metal’s appeal. Ongoing geopolitical tensions and cautious market sentiment are also driving safe-haven demand, helping gold maintain its firm footing.
Eurozone Data on Deck: Inflation, Growth & Jobs in Focus
Monday brings Manufacturing PMI, followed by Tuesday’s flash Eurozone CPI, and the unemployment rate, a key mix of indicators on activity, inflation, and labor-market health. On Wednesday, Services PMI will be released alongside Eurozone PPI which will add another layer to the inflation picture, while Friday’s Eurozone GDP release will deliver the clearest read on the bloc’s overall momentum and the policy outlook for the ECB.
BOJ Intervention Back in Focus
Markets are watching the yen closely as fresh talk of potential BOJ intervention circulates, with officials signaling they’re prepared to step in if rapid currency weakness threatens financial stability or undermines inflation goals.
